Veridian Credit Union

We are a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by our members and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.

Veridian Credit Union was founded in 1934 in Waterloo, Iowa by a handful of John Deere employees who wanted to offer their coworkers an alternative to commercial banks and other for-profit financial institutions. Today, Veridian is still a not-for-profit, member-owned financial cooperative with 838 employees with a mission to create successful financial futures.

As a credit union, Veridian is self-governed by a board of unpaid, volunteer directors who are democratically elected by their fellow members. Earnings are returned to members in the form of better rates and lower fees. These are the fundamental credit union differences that guide Veridian and the credit union philosophy of “people helping people.”
